We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement. Pier71wines.com collects information from our customers at several different points on our website for order fulfillment, our contact form, comments, wine club, and newsletter subscriptions.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. This information is used to fill customers’ orders. If we have trouble processing an order, this contact information is used to get in touch with the customer.

This website takes every precaution to protect our customers’ information. When customers submit sensitive information via the website, their information is protected both online and offline.

When our registration/order form asks customers to enter sensitive information that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry – SSL. While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect customer information offline. All of our customers’ information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices and order fulfillment centers.
